Album Ranking

  1. From Under the Cork Tree
    • Is this really surprising? I literally designed this site based off the entire Cork Tree aesthetic... it's been my favorite album since I first got into FOB, and as good as the rest of their discography is, nothing compares to it for me... everything flows so perfectly, the whole theme, even down to the color palette... it's just perfect. (I am biased here bc the colors are the same colors as my favorite character^_^) My favorite song of all time is from this album. That alone warrants it to be number one. My fave 3 track run off this album is Get Busy → XO → Snitches and Talkers it's life-changing forreal
  2. Infinity on High
    • This is another no skip album from Fall Out Boy. The production on this is incredible. This Ain't A Scene is seriously one of the best singles of all time. It should be criminal to be written that good. The transitions on this album are also so beautiful. After Life → Fame < Infamy is such a good 4 track run... I also just really love the aesthetic of this album as well. The tarot cards they bundled with one of the releases, the whole stars and moon shit, like I fucking love it. The visuals they did for the Honda Civic tour were sooooooo peak.
  3. Folie à Deux
    • Alright I want you to take everything I said about Cork Tree and IOH and multiply that by 1000. That is Folie à Deux. It ranks third in my personal album ranking yes but objectively this album is perfection. It's like with each album they made they only got better and better and then it all comes together so neatly on Folie. This entire album is a masterpiece, it is so well put together that sometimes it brings me to tears listening to it in the car. The album feels like one solid piece and that's not to say their previous albums don't but it's like. Proper on here. They mastered the art of transitions. Like my god 20 Dollar into West Coast Smoker??? Hell even 27 into Tiffany Blews into w.a.m.s. because omfg listen that is like my second favorite FOB 3 track run EVERRRRR it's so fucking good. I cannot listen to any of those songs on their own they're like a set. Anyone who hated this when it came out will be judged by god and they will be judged HARSHLY !
  4. So Much (for) Stardust
    • SMFS is such a beautiful album. To me, it kinda feels like a love letter to the fans. I had such a fun time during the album release. I was lucky enough to live near one of the listening parties they did, and I'm so glad I did. It's so funny cause even then, I knew Muse was gonna be my favorite... lol. I really love the range of style on this album. The guitars are so awesome. The drums are crazy. The orchestras are soooooo so so beautiful. I can't listen to the title track while high without crying. Hell even when I'm sober #TBH. As usual Patrick's vocals are phenomenal and he put his entire pussy into this album but are we really surprised there .

My Own FOB Lore

Growing up, I didn't have a favorite artist or favorite band. I remember in our yearbooks back in elementary school, they had this section at the end where you'd fill out your favorite artists, TV shows, etc etc. I never had any trouble with the last two, but the first one? I wasn't really someone who got into specific artists. I mean, I had people I enjoyed listening to, but compared to my classmates who were raving about One Direction, I felt a bit sad I didn't have one solid answer to that question for myself.

And then I entered middle school.

Well, it was more like a few months after I entered middle school. It was December 2014, I was 11 years old, and the year was about to end... a friend of mine had told me about some new Disney movie out in theatres called Big Hero 6. I was like, alright fine sure, let's go watch it. Which would in turn change my life for the next decade.

The movie itself was cool! I had a crush on Hiro. But that's not the point here. I heard Immortals during the movie and was like 'huh I like this song' and then when it played at the credits again, I pulled my phone out and quickly Shazammed it; I had no idea who "Fall Out Boy" was. But you better believe I went home that night and started looking into them. As in I listened to Immortals over and over for a few days until I was finally like well let me go listen to their other stuff. Which is when I realized 'ohhh these are the guys who did Light Em Up.' So I was pleased to hear that I had already enjoyed their music before.

It did not take me long to become a certified Fall Out Boy dickrider. I was studying up on them and their discography so heavy you would think I was about to be quizzed on it. When I entered 7th grade it was only even worse. I went around just saying Pete Wentz's name to anyone who had the misfortune of talking to me. My teachers knew who Fall Out Boy were. I lost a flash drive full of um... Peterick art at that school. I did not ever suffer the consequences of this because shortly after I went into homeschool. (A mistake in itself but I digress) Needless to say I was insufferable. I vividly remember the announcement for Wintour, because I had just got out of PE (or was about to go? I can't remember) and so I had to sneak my phone in the bathroom stall, holding it up to the ceiling because I had Sprint and they fucking suck ass for service. Regardless, I was so excited. (I didn't get to go, but whatever.)

To give you an idea of what kind of emo kid I was, I had a spam bandom instagram account and was a twenty one pilots fan. That says enough. That is not a good thing by the way. At any rate, my emo phase didn't last too long, because in the summer of 2016, I got into anime instead. And I met my beautiful angel princess wife Izaya. But this site is about Fall Out Boy so I will not go too into detail on that part.

Instead, I will be fast forwarding to late 2022. I had got super back into MCR this year thanks to Foundations of Decay. In fact, it was so crazy, this was the first year in the past 5 years that someone other than FOB was my top artist on Last.fm. But my love for them was not any less strong. I don't know exactly what triggered it, but I got obsessed with Snitches and Talkers again out of nowhere. Which is smart, and I applaud my past self for this, but still. And then SMFS happened. And LFTOS. And all of those things. And I was like wow. Crazy shit. So 2023 I went back into my past self and just went crazy with the FOBism. Shoutout to all the funny fobtwt accounts I follow 🙏

This year is no different. I am back to dickriding Patrick Stump no matter what he does. He could seriously sing anything and I'd be there in tears like yep yep that's my GOAT 🗣🗣🗣 But that's all I have to say here. Fall Out Boy and their music mean the world to me and a big part of who I am today is because of them. After all these years I still know all the lyrics and all the stupid videos of the band from back in the day... I need to rewatch Release the Bats...

(Also, I need Peter Wentz to release a new version of the Stay Gold hoodie... I already commissioned art of Izaya wearing it so now I need to have my own so I can be matching with my angel wife 👨‍❤️‍💋‍👨👨‍❤️‍💋‍👨👨‍❤️‍💋‍👨)

Concerts I've Been To

☆ March 8, 2015 — NRG Stadium, Houston, Texas

This was my first Fall Out Boy concert, and by extension, the first concert I had ever asked to go to! I had just gotten into FOB a few months prior to this, so when I heard they were coming to the rodeo, I had to go...

Admittedly, I don't remember much. Mainly because I was 11. Our seats were far out, and my phone camera quality was about what you would expect for 2015, so my photos are all... pretty bad. That being said, I still had a lot of fun! I went with a friend, and the whole experience was awesome. Apparently they played I Don't Care... I don't remember this, but I've never been more jealous of my 11-year-old self...

Actually, there's one thing I remember vividly: well, they were obviously going to play Sugar. So as soon as I heard 'Is this more than you bargained for yet' I pulled out my phone at the speed of lightning and started recording that shit man. 11 years old and already obsessed with Patrick Stump Sugar hip thrusting... I was a lost cause the moment I was born.

☆ June 27, 2023 — Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, The Woodlands, Texas

Unfortunately, I didn't get to see FOB again until I was almost 20. I really wanted to go to Hella Mega Tour when I was 17, since they were back in Houston, but by the time the show actually happened, I was too sick to attend. So I was super bummed out about that. And then, just as 2022's about to end, Fall Out Boy's doing something again... that thing they put in the Chicago Tribune for FOB8 was so exciting man... all I needed to hear was that snippet of LFTOS for me to know I was gonna go see them on tour.

And I did! I had so much fun... this was my favorite band, and I hadn't seen them in years, and I got to hear Take Over live which is just soooo fucking good, and This Ain't A Scene... which is just... it's one of those songs that you have to see live to get the full experience. This is what I mean. Patrick...oh Patrick... 😢😢😢

And the funny Peterick banter... I felt like I was 11 again. It was such a good time. Unfortunately, I didn't get to enjoy it to the fullest because this was the middle of summer in Texas and this venue is outdoors and the fans they have run for like 4 minutes every hour and barely do anything to cool us off so I nearly passed out a few times. That, and the guy next to me was this older dude who gave me a weird look when I yelled "Joe Trohman my goat😭😭🙏🙏" at the end of This Ain't A Scene so I was like weirded out by him. But still! Seeing FOB again after all those years was so worth it. I got one of the tote bags and the baseball jersey.

☆ March 8, 2024 — Moody Center, Austin, Texas

As soon as FOB announced 2ourdust, I knew I would be going. I've missed enough of their shows in my lifetime. I needed to make up for it. And also...I needed more 8ball and Patrick enrichment time...

And my god, am I glad I went. This time around, I made a ton of bracelets to trade, and I had so much fun trading them. Everyone I met was super nice and fun to talk to... there was even someone who was trading photocards for bracelets... naturally, I got a Patrick photocard. 💖

I had actually sold my original seat and bought one way closer to the stage... I was super worth it, not just because of the view, but because this time, I sat next to actually cool people...! It was an older lady and her daughter and they were so awesome... we had lengthy discussions about FOB. WHen I had mentioned I didn't get to get a pink seashell for Fake Out, they gave me one of theirs... I will cherish it forever. And then someone in our row had gotten VIP but didn't care for all of the gifts that came with it, so they gave them out to people in our row...I got the banner...!!!!🥺😭🙏 I was so happy... I also bought a set of pins and more shirts this time...

The actual concert itself was just...god I can't even begin to explain how good it was. (Got a little teary eyed just thinking about it) I really love the lower key they play LFTOS at... the studio ver is great of course, but Patrick's voice sounds so good at that key. And I got to hear SMFS title track live finally...!

The medley was... well. It was something. I started recording after Patrick said that thing about maybe like 3 people knowing this song and I was like '? Phonebook?' because that was super obscure...and I would love to hear that live. And then as he's playing the chords and I'm recording, it hit me, and you can hear me go "Oh my goddddd" as I realize he's playing It's Not A Side Effect and holy shit. I cried a little. I never thought I'd get to be there to witness such a crazy live debut like that. Patrick Stump is my goat forever for playing that.🙏

And the 8ball!!! As soon as Pete was like "Don't you know who I think I am?" I was like ohhhhhhhh I get it. I see you Peter. 😼😼😼

Top 5 Songs

  1. Snitches and Talkers Get Stitches and Walkers
    • Listen. Listen. This is the best song ever. There are few things in life that come close to listening to this at full volume and having every single part of it injected directly into your veins. I cannot begin to tell you how much I love this song. For me this is literally the song for EVERYTHINGGG I listen to it when I'm feeling joyful and excited I listen to it when I'm angry and raghhhhhhh🤬🤬🤬 I listen to it when I'm ... well you get the picture. My point is it is a very important song that evokes very strong emotions.
